On June 6th 1992, the Fantoft stave church, one of Norway's architectural treasures dating from the 12th century, was burned to the ground via arson. By January 1993, arson attacks had occurred on at least seven other major stave churches, including one on Christmas Eve of 1992. Ricky was found guilty in all of these cases.
In early 2009, Ricky travelled from Florida to Carla's apartment in LA. Upon his arrival a confrontation began, which ended when Ricky fatally stabbed Carla. Her body was found outside the apartment with twenty-three stab wounds – two to the head, five to the neck, and sixteen to the back.
