  • Lovin’ Mike Posner: New Video “Cooler Than Me”

    • 8 June 2010, 6:35 pm – vladski
    • Mike Posner is beginning to make a major buzz for himself as both producer and performer, but also for being both a cool dude frat boy (Sigma Nu for the records), and a bit of a sexy little tiger for those who, err, like that kind of thing. He's not doing too bad for a music scene newbie either, having already worked with artists like Kid Cudi, Wale, Big Sean, Bun B, One Be Lo, Eric Holljes, and 3OH!3. He's even made it into the Billboard Hot 100, at #31 this week. Mike's on the Vans Warped Tour this summer if you want to catch him live, where I'm sure he'll be trying to recreate the vibe from this his current release, "Cooler Than Me". But Odd Blood is not the ...

  • Memory Tapes at SXSW 2010 – Live Review

    • 21 March 2010, 12:01 am – @willfrankkiker
    • Just caught Memory Tapes at the Cedar Street Rhapsody party at SXSW – first word that comes to mind is “frustrating.”

I heard so much talent in Memory Tapes’ polished indie pop rock, spiced with a bit of synth. Interesting, cool arrangements and the beats had the moderate crowd dancing, but I kept imagining how truly awesome this band would be if the vocals were stronger. If Dayve Hawk keeps crafting these cool pop tunes and works on the voice a ...
