Tarah New’s Bio

My name is Tarah New and I've been singing all my life. I haven't gone a day without singing since I was about 2 years old. I moved to Los Angeles from my hometown in Texas about 4 years ago to pursue my singing career. Since then, I've been the lead singer in a Pop/R&B girl group and I've also been a singer in an Acoustic/ HipHop group. Both of these opportunities gave me great experience, but neither of them fulfilled me. As a very young child, family members would ask me "Tarah, what do you want to be when you grow up?", "A singer", I'd reply. And my answer never changed. I've always known I was meant to sing. No other career choice would fulfill me. But my passion doesn't end with only the will to sing, but also the yearning to write my own lyrics. I have to believe in the messages I'm singing and the stories I'm telling through music. Life's too short for shallow songs. My goal is to inspire every person who hears my music with a powerful message, and to touch people's lives all over the world. Say a woman is in an abusive relationship, and then she listens to an empowering song about kicking her man to the curb. Imagine if that song touches her heart so deeply because it tells her personal story. What if that's all she needed to hear? What if hearing that song helped her muster the final bit of strength she needed to move on? Now, what if, as well as having a powerful message, the song also had a kick a** beat? Haha, perfect mix right? Top 40 meets top morality. Sooo this is turning into a personal mission statement... I'm gonna leave it at that for now.
