Artist Interview: Thomas Huttenlocher & Tara Devi for Project Paradise release of Complete Garden
Why are you a musician and how did you start?
Thomas: I am not a musician. I would rather like to call myself an audio producer.I have had music in me since as long as I can remember.
Tara:Music is part of my blood and family. It%u2019s a natural source to tap in and out of.
Could you tell us more about your music?
Thomas: The collaberation between Tara and me has resulted in this unique sound.
It felt for me as the music to the Project Paradise album was done thru me, not of me.
Tara:The music for Project Paradise was originally channeled by me, as an intuitive download. I had been carrying around this new theme for my next Conscious Movement program, since I lived on Paradise Island in Bahamas. And I asked myself; What is Paradise? Is it a place or a state? If it%u2019s a state %u2013 then what triggers it to appear? The choreography somehow didn%u2019t seem to get birth - before I Awake came along.
We met through some mutual friends, and I invited him to work with me on my project. From there Project Paradise was born. I Awake asked me to give him some directions on where the music was heading. And as I sat down to scribble down a few guidelines, it all came through. Instruments, arrangements, titels and so on%u2026Shortly after, we sat down together in the studio and I Awake started to pour out the compositions from the %u201Cintuitive download map%u201D I had sent him. And our fusion of electro %u2013 ambiental and acoustic-ethno started to blend together to this perfect mix of luscious soundscapes that now marks the PP id of today. And yes ofcourse, after that the choreography for CM Paradise was also completed.
What other interests do you have besides music?
Thomas:The big question about what life is, people, family life, good parties and video games. :D
Tara:Dance, Spirituality, Meditation, Yoga, Nature, Love and Friendship.
Which Musicians inspire you the most?
Thomas:No one in particular. It can be anything that has caught my attention at the moment.
Tara:Bj
