iTunes Album Review - Everything You Need

My Dear Friends, I just saw the iTunes official review posted and am too excited; I have to share it with you! =) iTunes Review %u201CMuch in the spirit of other strong alt-country singer-songwriters like Kathleen Edwards and Sara Cox, Manda Mosher skirts the genre with enough mainstream pop appeal to avoid being so easily classifiable. She plays a dobro and blows a harmonica (%u201CThank You%u201D) where she hears fit. Her smooth delivery on Pete Townshend%u2019s %u201CBlue, Red and Grey%u201D and her own %u201CDon%u2019t You Know%u201D owe more to Karen Carpenter than, say, Lucinda Williams, while the whirling, whimsical flourishes of %u201COne True Love%u201D flash moments of Nashville under its pop tent as the organ gently purrs behind Mosher%u2019s honeyed vocals %u2013 the sudden %u201Coohs%u201D taking things to another level. %u201CWash It All Away%u201D and the title track work similarly, relying on the tightknit groove of mildly distorted guitars, emerging Hammond organs, and Mosher%u2019s unpretentious delivery to build the songs to dramatic heights without ever threatening the sound barrier. It%u2019s soft rock with a sturdy backbone and unashamed pop hooks.' This also reminds me; if you have a copy of the record and would like to help, post up your own review on iTunes or Amazon..every good word helps. Thank you so much for being here!! Love, -Manda

Everything You Need - Album Review for Folk & Acoustic Music Exchange

Everything You Need Manda Mosher Red Parlor Records Available from Red Parlor Records (April 2009) A review written for the Folk & Acoustic Music Exchange by Mark S. Tucker A scratchy old tape recording composing the Intro belies the fully engineered recordings that follow, each one delivered in vocals as smooth and sweet as honey but with a knowing of the world%u2026Lay Me Down being exactly what you might hope and imagine and a rocker finding some good leadwork in Ido Sasson. Monda Mosher's purry pipes are a perennially slinky seduction into her brand of lush soft rock that amps up in various songs building and layering. There's a lot of Aimee Mann and bit of Martha Bates in her writing. In aspect, the blond-tressed singer-guitarist-songwriter looks like she could be the daughter of Lynn Carey, 70s singer and namesake of Mama Lion, a beauty who was a Neil Merryweather protege and posed for Penthouse, making a small scandal at the time. Carey was a blueser who could shout when she had a mind to, but Mosher never resorts to that, preferring the melodious, sultry, moody, and mellifluous. She was, not long ago, chosen to tributize Neil Young and Pete Townshend in respective CDs, and a Townshend cut appears here, his Blue, Red, and Grey. Everything You Need is a breezy CD, not a burner or a depressoid set of opuses for a dark fall afternoon. The disc is more a summertime outing, driving up Pacific Coast Highway, heading for Zuma Beach and points beyond, cares well behind with prospects of life and love ahead. There's a goodly share of wistfulness to shade the collection, and any number of cuts could easily find their way onto the charts. Manda Mosher has everything going for her: the looks, the sonorities, the chart sound, and any number of winning aspects no matter how you approach her work. Track List: * Intro (Mosher / LePow) * Lay Me Down (Mosher / LePow) * Keep on Turning (Mosher / Erez) * It Can't Be Wrong (Mosher / Hauptman) * Everything You Need (Manda Mosher) * Blue, Red, and Grey (Pete Townshend) * One True Love (Mosher / Jaurigi) * Wash It All Away (Mosher / Erez) * Don't You Know (Manda Mosher) * Not What Love is For (Mosher / Salas / Pinto) * Thank You (Mosher / LePow) Edited by: David N. Pyles Copyright 2009, Peterborough Folk Music Society. This review may be reprinted with prior permission and attribution.

Manda Mosher News: Signed to Red Parlor Records

My Dear Friends, I'd like to share the exciting news with you, my friends first =) As some of you know I've been shopping my album to record companies and have finished negotiating a deal with Red Parlor Records! I signed with Red Parlor on Wednesday, September 24th. I adore this label and the artists on the label. You can check them out at www.redparlor.com. I first heard of them after they released Chris Whitley's last recording "Reiter In" and their subsequent releases of David Olney, Jake Ziah, West Coast Grand, The Shanghai String Band, Reed Foehl, and Joy Askew.all beautiful artistic works. I couldn't be more thrilled that my album has found it's home here. They're an indie roots label based in New York. We're going to re-package the album for release on Red Parlor, record one or two more songs and we'll release the record in March 2009 first in the US and Japan - and then following international territories (Canada, UK, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.) It feels like a wedding day..hard to put into words the excitement. A huge thank you to Guy Erez, my producer - we did it =) To the musicians who played on the record (Guy, Ido, Davo, Jamie), to my co-writers (Guy, Cody, Ken, Phil, Raf, Trev). And to Wil Sharpe at Sharpe Entertainment who has managed many a great career. Wil also manages Guy and is now managing me and this record project. Wil has been key in solidifying the deal. A big thank you to Steven Goff and Jerry Krenach at Red Parlor for believing in this record and for bringing me into the Red Parlor family. And many thanks to Gary Gilbert and Patrick Sabatini at Manatt, Phelps, Phillips for their negotiations on the deal. And thank you to YOU - all of you who have offered support and love through the process..means the world to me. In other news, All Access Magazine just published my interview with Christi Broekemeier in their latest issue on Girl Power - Check it at: www.allaccessmagazine.com/vol6/issue15/manda_moser.html or on my myspace blog. Looking forward to seeing you all real soon. Love, Manda www.mandamosher.com
